About the event

Description:

The Queering Climate Action event series is an exploration in integrating queer perspectives and artistic methods into climate work. Queer people are more likely to experience negative impacts of climate change because of systemic inequalities, but they are still often left out of conversations surrounding climate change. Our dream for this series is to create spaces to incorporate queer knowledge, art, and joy into the climate realm, and to share knowledge and skills for climate adaptation and mitigation.

The first event of the series is our Queer Art and Climate Action Seminar! Queer and allied communities are invited to participate in a climate-centred hands-on art event, featuring queer musicians and queer artists, who will guide the group in a community art build and discuss the important role of art in climate work. Free snacks and drinks will be provided!
